IndyStar is seeking two photojournalists to join our award-winning visuals team.IndyStar is winner of three Pulitzer Prizes, including in 2021 for national reporting. We recently received a $2 million investment from our parent company, Gannett, to turbocharge local journalism in Central Indiana. You’ll work with and learn from some of journalism’s best while living in a vibrant and diverse city in the heart of the Midwest.The right candidates for these positions will be skilled visual storytellers, comfortable with all aspects of the daily news environment. They will be adept at video storytelling, with the ability to produce short news videos as well as in-depth pieces.These photojournalists will be self-starters, hungry to dive into the community. They will be expected to contribute to IndyStar’s weekly photo page with an eye toward intimately local visual storytelling.Requirements:Proven experience as a professional photojournalist in a daily news environment.A bachelor's degree in journalism, photography or other relevant field, or relevant experience.A strong portfolio showcasing robust visual storytelling, including a variety of news, sports, features and enterprise stories, as well as video.Proficiency using photo and video editing software including Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Photo Mechanic.Valid driver’s license, a car and the minimum liability insurance required by state law.Expected pay range:The minimum starting pay for these positions is $48k, with higher rates commensurate with experience.These are full-time positions that may include night and/or weekend shifts as well as travel assignments.These positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Indianapolis News Guild.How to apply:We are eager to learn more about you and how you fit this role.
